Complete and submit a task
When a customer assigns you a task in Clover, you complete it in a step-by-step Task Wizard and submit your response back to them. Follow these steps.
Before you start
- Have any files the task asks for ready to upload (for example, a certificate or a completed sheet).
- If your task includes a signature step, you'll sign electronically — no printing required.
Find the task
- In the left navigation, open Tasks.
- Make sure the Received tab is selected. This lists tasks your trading partners have assigned to you.
- Find your task. Each row shows the task name, who assigned it, a status (Not Started, In Progress, or Completed), and a completion percentage. You can sort columns, filter by status, or search for a company.
Turn off Only my tasks to also see tasks assigned to your whole team.
- Select the task to open its details — you'll see who assigned it, the description, and who has access.
Start your response
- Select Respond to task. The Task Wizard opens.
If the task was assigned to your team, you'll first select Accept to take it on. Accepting makes it yours and removes it from your teammates' lists. Tasks assigned directly to you skip this step.
- On the first screen, select Start Task. From here, your progress saves automatically as you go.
Work through the steps
Move through the steps with Next. The wizard tracks which step you're on. The steps you see depend on what the customer set up:
- Instructions — read the guidance, then select Next.
- Form — fill in the fields (for example, numbers or dates). Fields marked Required must be completed before you can continue. Some fields are pre-filled from your company profile.
- File upload — select Select File(s), then choose a file from My Company Files, My Files, or upload a new one. Stay within the listed file types and size limit.
- Signature — follow the on-screen signing steps to add your electronic signature.
If a required field is missing or a file isn't allowed, Clover tells you exactly what to fix before you can continue.
Pause, or hand off
- Pause: just leave — your progress is saved automatically. Reopen the task from your Tasks list to pick up where you left off.
- Hand off: select Reassign in the wizard to pass the task to a teammate.
Submit
- On the last step, the Next button changes to Finish.
- Select Finish. You'll see a Task Completed confirmation, and your response is sent back to the customer.
