Respond to your first task

This walkthrough takes you through completing one task from start to finish. By the end, you'll have submitted a response to your customer and you'll know your way around the Task Wizard. It takes about five minutes.

You'll need a Clover account that a customer has invited you to. That's it.

1. Find your task

After you sign in, select My Tasks in the left navigation, then the Received tab. This is your to-do list — every request a customer has sent you shows up here.

You'll see at least one task waiting. Select it to open it.

2. Open the Task Wizard

Select View in the Task Wizard. The wizard is the guided screen where you'll answer everything the customer asked for, one step at a time.

Select Accept Task to take ownership of it, then Start Task to begin.

Notice the progress bar at the top. It fills in as you move through the steps, so you always know how much is left.

3. Move through the steps

The wizard now walks you through whatever your customer set up. You might see a short set of instructions, a form to fill in, a file to upload, or a document to sign.

For now, just read each step and select Next to continue. If there's a form, fill in the boxes marked Required — Clover won't let you skip those, and it'll point out anything you miss.

That's the whole rhythm: read the step, do what it asks, select Next.

4. Submit

When you reach the last step, the Next button changes to Finish.

Select Finish. You'll see a Task Completed message — that's your cue that your response is on its way back to the customer. You're done.

What you just learned

  • My Tasks → Received is where your work lives.
  • The Task Wizard guides you step by step, and the progress bar shows where you are.
  • Required fields must be filled before you can continue.
  • Finish submits your response.

Next time a task comes in, you already know the path. When you hit a task with a file upload or a signature, see Complete and submit a task for the details on those steps.
